In the recent 2024 Andhra Pradesh assembly elections Telugu Desam Party(TDP) in alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) & Janasena Party (JSP) combined as NDA Alliance and formed a government with high majority against YSRCP Party.
Nara Chandrababu Naidu was elected as Chief Minister (CM) of Andhra Pradesh by NDA alliance on June 12th 2024.
After NDA Alliance won with huge majority, People of Andhra Pradesh was eagerly waiting for the promises they made during election campaign and placed in their manifesto. Mainly Telugu Desam Party (TDP) come up with in the name of Babu Super 6 Schemes.
In Super 6 Schemes, One of the important scheme that attracted women of Andhra Pradesh was Maha Shakti Scheme.
Maha Shakti Scheme Benefits
1. Aadabidda Nidhi
The Aadabidda Nidhi Scheme, launched by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with NDA Alliance, aims to empower women in Andhra Pradesh. Under this initiative, eligible female residents between the ages of 18 and 59 receive direct financial assistance of ₹1,500 per month. By providing this support, the scheme enhances household welfare, reduces poverty, and promotes gender equality.
2. Thalliki Vandanam
The Thalliki Vandanam Scheme, launched by the Andhra Pradesh government i.e Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with NDA Alliance, provides financial assistance to mothers or recognized guardians from below poverty line households. Under this program, eligible children receive an annual support of ₹15,000, empowering them to complete their education and pursue independent futures.
The scheme planned in the way, those funds are directly deposited into the child’s mother’s account, The scheme major update was benefiting all children within a family. By helping for thier education, the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme aims to reduce dropout rates and eradicate child labor in the state.
3. Deepam
Free LPG Connections: The government covers the cost of LPG connections for women who are part of self-help groups and whose families fall below the poverty line. This financial support enables them to access clean cooking fuel.
Annual Benefit: Eligible beneficiaries can receive up to three free gas cylinders each year. The focus is on household gas connections rather than commercial ones.
Empowering Women: To promote cleaner fuel usage, LPG connections are registered in the name of the woman member of the family.
4. Uchitha Bussu Prayanam (Free Bus)
The Andhra Pradesh government i.e Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with NDA Alliance launched the “Uchitha Bussu Prayanam” (Free Bus Travel) scheme for women in 2024. This program provides free bus transportation to female citizens within the state. The Minister for Transport, Sports, and Youth Services, Mr. Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, announced that the scheme would be implemented within a month i.e in July 2024.
